The Family Life Center helps ex-offenders and their families re-integrate into the community by providing long-term holistic case management services starting prior to release from prison and extending after release. The FLC Resource Center is available for all previously incarcerated individuals and their families. Learn more about our Programs & Services.

In addition to supporting individual families and ex-offenders, the Family Life Center advocates on behalf of communities affected by crime and incarceration. Learn more about our Policy and Research.

The Family Life Center is supported by individual, government, and foundation grants. Please consider donating, as every donation helps us continue to fund and expand our services. Click here to learn how you can help.

The Family Life Center ran the successful Rhode Island Right to Vote Campaign. In November 2006 RI became the first state in our nation's history to restore voting rights to formerly incarcerated individuals through public referendum. Click here to learn more about the Right to Vote Campaign. Congratulations to everyone involved, and if you just won your right to vote, you can register to vote at the Family Life Center.

The Family Life Center runs the Reinvest in Justice website, which is an online campaign for comprehensive criminal justice reform. The site allows people to join a group that provides email updates about ongoing reform efforts. Members can also participate in the campaign by taking part in emailing campaigns to politicians. Learn more about the Reinvest in Justice campaign here.

FLC Purchases Building for Supportive Housing Program

With support from the Corporation for Supportive Housing, the FLC has purchased a building in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Providence to be converted to subsidized 'green' housing units. Upon completion, the building will provide housing for clients, as well as program and office space. The building will also feature commercial space, with the aim of gearing this space towards complimentary services or employment opportunities for clients. The FLC has secured two EPA grants for environmental remediation of the site, a commitment from the Neighborhood Opportunities Program for operating subsidies, and the full support of the City of Providence for the project. We are working diligently to obtain the additional financial and political support necessary to complete the project. Once completed, the building would be the only supportive housing in RI specifically for formerly incarcerated individuals.

To express your support for this project, find out more information, or learn how you can help, call 401-781-5808 or write info@riflc.org.
